Top 3 Classic TV Series to watch on Netflix

Netflix, Remote Control, Electronic

Although a large number of the present-generation TV viewers are kind of gluttons, fond of consuming series after series, others prefer relaxing back and enjoying the shows of the yesteryears, some of which are still going strong. And what better place than Netflix to do such binge watching, as their library is continuously expanding with all kinds of dramas, comedies and series of various genre.

Here in this article we will acquaint you with the top 3 classic TV series that you must catch-up on Netflix right away!

Twin Peaks

Counted amongst the defining shows of the 90s era, despite not having a laugh track at all, adding canned laughter to it wouldn’t have made it feel any stranger. This amazing series from Mark Frost and David Lynch was primarily a mystery drama surrounding the circumstances that caused the death of Laura Palmer, a teenager. The case is being investigated by an FBI agent named Dale Cooper, played exceedingly well by Kyle McLachlan. Apart from the murder angle, Twin Peaks offers a good look into the small northern town mentality where the disturbing fantasies and secrets of people can be seen flowing light tap water. Regardless of the fact that the show lost a bit of its narrative thrust during the mid-part of the second season, the reason why season 3 never materialised, those watching it for the oddities and not so much the mystery, are guaranteed not to be disappointed.

Stranger Things

While many of you might wonder why do we have Stranger Things in this list, the fact that it has been beautifully set in the 80s era, with excellent production and screenplay, makes it deserving of its spot here. The moment you see the opening scene, it’s pretty clear that it aspires to be a legendary sci-fi series. You see a scientist running down an empty hallway, chased by some unknown force which eventually gets hold of him and pulls him up the elevator roof, with the doors closing in front of you. It cuts straight to a bunch of kids playing in some suburban basement. You’re taken from a purely Alien situation to ET in an instant! You can see many influences of the 80s era – a bunch of kids going on adventures in their rural town, a secret government agency, peer pressure, drugs and teenagers experimenting with sex. In fact, there are glimpses of John Hughes, Steven Spielberg and Stephen King, all in one series. Here are some facts associated with Stranger Things in numbers.

Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, Star Trek

Star Trek

It’s difficult to think of any science fiction fan who hasn’t had a connection with Star Trek franchise during his/her growing up years. And Netflix has ensured that this connection doesn’t weaken any time soon. Whether you love the old school Star Trek and adore Leonard Nimoy’s portrayal of half-Vulcan half-human character Spock or are a mid-era fan who adores Captain Picard; or instead a more modern Star Trek follower who always gets behind Captain Archer, you can catch it all on Netflix.
