DVD, the 1972 television series is perfect for fans of “who-done-its”
and crime-solving sleuths. The second season features guest appearances
by Linda Evans, Victoria Principal, Dick Van Patten and others. Bonus

BANACEK – The Second Season is available on January 22, 2008
for a suggested retail price of $29.95.
Season Two contains eight action-packed episodes that
feature guest appearances by Dick Van Patten (“Eight is Enough”),
Richard Jordan (“The Hunt for Red October”), Dick Gautier
(“Mary Tyler Moore”), Sue Ane Langdon (appearances on
“Happy Days”, “Love Boat” and “Hart
to Hart”), Linda Evans (“Dynasty”), Victoria Principal
(“Dallas”), Cesar Romero (“Batman” - TV series),
and Pat Harrington (“One Day at a Time”), to name a few.
The bonus pilot episode, “Detour To Nowhere,”
follows Banacek as he finds himself in a race against his old adversary,
Chief McKinney of the National Meridian Insurance Company. Banacek
must solve the case of a missing armored truck carrying $1,600,000.00
of gold bullion while under police escort. The episode features guest
star appearances by J. Pat O’Malley, Dee Gardner, Larry Burrell,
Hank Sharon, Mario Machado among others.

Season - Synopsis
Thomas Banacek is Boston’s leading freelance investigator and
a self-made millionaire, living in Boston's posh Beacon Hill area.
Banacek has a taste for the finer things in life and being of Polish
decent, he also loves to recite enigmatic Polish proverbs. When insurance
companies are stuck on impossible crime cases, they call on Banacek
immediately. He relies on help from his colorful assistant-- limo
chauffer and gofer, Jay (played by Ralph Manza), and his close friend
and bookstore owner, Felix Mulholland, (played by Murray Matheson)
to help with background research.
