Amos 'n' Andy had all of the elements of an enduring classic - first-rate scripts that would rival the best episode of I Love Lucy for hilarious plot weavings along with lovable characters played with aplomb by masterful actors clearly in their element. But there was an inescapable component to Amos 'n' Andy that overshadowed the superior accomplishments of the actors and production staff - the actors were black and the year was 1951.

Irwin Allen's Lost Sci-Fi Pilot
After Time Tunnel was cancelled in 1967, there was another remaining season for Lost in Space and Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea before they were hustled off the air in 1968. Allen was hopeful that he could replace the now-canceled Lost in Space with his 'new' idea for 1969-70 - The Man from the 25th Century.

Interview with Jack Kirby
TVparty presents rare video of an interview with The King of Comics - Jack Kirby. One of the most abundantly creative Americans of all time, the genius who brought us Captain America, The Fantastic Four, The Hulk, X-Men, The Avengers, Mighty Thor, Silver Surfer, New Gods (and on and on...) died ten years ago. Yet his spirit lives on. When this interview was recorded, the 67 year-old artist was primarily designing characters and storyboarding Saturday morning cartoons like Thundaar, the Barbarian.
