For the third straight year, Hollywood's biggest and brightest stars are competing for the coveted TVparty Awards!

Despite networks spending millions of dollars placing ads in the major entertainment trades to try to influence the outcome, the final verdict in the TVparty Awards rests solely in your hands, dear reader.

:Here are the 1999 winners - place your vote for the BEST OF 2000:

(First we'll pick the top 6 nominees from your votes, then you can vote again for the winner!)

Best series currently in production:

LAST YEAR'S WINNERS:
Judge Judy (26%) / Xena, Princess Warrior / The Roseanne Show / The Howard Stern Show / Powerpuff Girls / That Seventies Show / The Simpsons / Monday Night Nitro

YOUR VOTE: Best Current Series:

Judge Judy tops the syndication ratings, I was hoping The Roseanne Show would get some votes but it didn't - I liked the show and recommended it in spite of what every critic said. She explored fresh ideas most mornings, with occasional enlighten conversations with individuals who rarely get national TV time. Ratings are abysmal, I confess I watched it all too infrequently myself.

Second place went to The Simpsons, last year's winner. That Seventies Show came in third.

Favorite current television celebrity:

LAST YEAR'S WINNERS:
Drew Carey 32% / Star Jones / Goldberg / Judy Schiendlin

YOUR VOTE: Favorite current television celebrity:

Drew Carey may prove to be this generations greatest television star. I predict a long career from this guy, truly enlighting comedy. Fortunately, survey respondents could fill in their own choices.

Ted Koppel's hair also got one vote. I like Star Jones.

Favorite TV actor of all time

LAST YEAR'S WINNERS:
Bill Cosby (21%) / Lucille Ball / Carol Burnett / Jean Stapleton / Andy Griffith

YOUR VOTE: Favorite TV actor of all time:

Believe it or not, every few months I get email addressed to Bill Cosby, like Bill Cosby is the webmaster of TVparty! People, Bill Cosby had two network television shows in 1999! He also lectures and does concerts, he doesn't have time to waste like the rest of us! And all of the mail is from young ladies in or just out of college looking for financial assistance - poor Bill Cosby must get hit up for money all the time.

Carol Burnett is running a close second. Gotta love Carol Burnett, why isn't SHE in her own series?. If Bill Cosby could have two, can't Carol Burnett have just one?

Favorite TV character of all time:

Ester

LAST YEAR'S WINNERS:
Aunt Ester (Sanford and Son) (13%) / Granny (Beverly Hillbillies) / George Jefferson / Eunice (Carol Burnett Show) / Barney Fife (Andy Griffith Show) / Cosmo Kramer (Seinfeld) / Ed Norton (The Honeymooners)

YOUR VOTE: Favorite TV character of all time:

Landslide for LaWanda Page as 'Aunt Ester'. Other notables: the Sleestack (as portrayed by Bill Laimbeer) on 'Land of the Lost' and Lenny & Squiggy from Laverne & Shirley, both great choices.

Worst series currently in production:

LAST YEAR'S WINNERS:
Suddenly Susan (27%) / Dateline / Robin Hood / Monday Night Nitro / Just Shoot Me

YOUR VOTE: Worst series currently in production:

For a second year in a row (the show's only been on two years) Suddenly Susan is on her way to winning the Worst Show in Production award. People weren't too crazy about Dateline, either, which surprised me since that's about all I watch on network TV.

Cable Execs - bring back reruns of:

YOUR VOTE: Bring back:

Best classic TV show:

LAST YEAR'S WINNERS:
Sonny and Cher (21%) / Soupy Sales Show / Winky-Dink / Good Times / Sanford and Son / It's About Time / Dallas

YOUR VOTE: Best classic TV show:

The Sonny and Cher page on TVparty was one of the very first ones on the site back in 1997 (before the show resurfaced on Tvland), and the page is more popular now than ever.

Hall of Fame Award:

LAST YEAR'S WINNERS:
Redd Foxx (14%) / Della Reese / Barbara Walters

Other vote getters: Bob Keeshan (original Captain Kangaroo), Morey Amsterdam, Sheriff John Rovick and Gene Siskel. All very deserving of an ACTUAL award for excellence!

Best Nightime Show

The Simpsons / 22%

Seinfeld was a close second with 20%. King of the Hill, Dharma and Greg, and Drew Carrey all tied for third place.

Two people actually selected 'Suddenly Susan' as the best primetime show. Maybe they misunderstood the question.

Worst Nighttime Show

Ask Harriet / 21%

Walker, Texas Ranger was up there with 19%. Buffy, Vampire Slayer was third with 18% and Third Rock was fourth with 12%.

After its poor showing in the TVparty Awards, Fox quickly yanked 'Ask Harriet' from their schedule! Forgotten it already? It was the show where a guy dresses as a woman to write a newspaper column.
