Can you believe Cops is beginning a 20th season this fall? Who would have guessed this pioneering reality series would be such a runaway hit? Anyone that ever watched an episode, that's who.

If you've ever seen the show (and who hasn't?) you already know what to expect, this new special is an adreniline pumped hour of amazing takedowns. Quite simply, you'll see what happens to people when they run from the police.

This best-of special starts out literally with a bang as suspects in a van careen through a red light and t-bone an automobile, followed by runners and jumpers of all stripes: hopped up prostitutes, drunk, disoriented old guys, cross-dressing truckers, intoxicated drivers who plow into fully lit up police cars, clueless drug addicts, naked nut jobs, knife-weilding despondent women, and numbskulls who can't understand simple instructions like 'put your hands in the air.'

COPS: 20 years... Caught On Tape is a shocking greatest hits collection of some of the bizarre tasks police are called in to handle - like capturing a giant boa constrictor, wrangling an enormous rat, coming to the aid of terrified children, controlling a Mardi Gras riot, and responding to a domestic disturbance turned food fight.

You'll witness an amazing officer with a prostetic leg chase down a fleeing junkie (and make the capture), a driverless car running in circles, and a deranged little person who thought he could escape on foot. Now that's entertainment!

I love this show because I always find myself yelling at these foolish criminals on the TV and roaring with laughter when resisters are tazered (sometimes repeatedly). In the end the good guys always win and the bad guys sign the consent form to have their idiotic actions played out for everyone to see on national TV. Those families must be proud. "My son is on TV tonight!"

Of course, all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Yeah, right - that's why they were running, they were innocent. This riveting hour-long special is a rip-roaring winner, a wild ride from start to finish.
