Monday 9:30, ABC - Adventures in Paradise October 1959 - April 1962 Gardner McKay stars as Adam Troy, captain of the schooner Tiki as it sails the South Pacific in a series loosely based on the James Michener book. The premiere season had first mate Oliver Lee (Weaver Levy) joining Adam on his quest for adventure, but he left and was replaced by Clay Baker (James Holden) for two years. When Clay moved onshore, he was replaced by Chris Parker (Guy Stockwell) for the third and last season. Think of 'Route 66' on the water with a higher quotient of scantily clad gals and frequent cast changes to keep things fresh. Later episodes were filmed on location in the South Pacific, a first for television.   Friday 9:00, ABC - Man with a Camera October 1958- February 1960 Charles Bronson as Mike Kovac, freelance photographer and crime-solver. A former combat photographer during the war, Bronson's character acted like he was in the thick of battle all the time. Lasted a year and a half. Tuesday 9:00 CBS - Tightrope September 1959 - September 1960 Half-hour series with Mike Connors ('Mannix') as an cop infiltrating the mob to get inside information. His insurance policy was a gun strapped to the small of his back - like you couldn't tell Mike Connors was a cop! The series was revived in three one-hour pilots, two starring Mike Connors in 1961 ('The New Tightrope') and 1962 ('The Expendables'), and one in 1972 with Christopher George ('Man on a String').   Thursday 10:30 NBC - The Lawless Years April 1959 - September 1961 The roaring Twenties, organized crime, bootleggers and New York City. Preceded 'The Untouchables', but didn't find an audience. Starring James Gregory as Detective Barney Ruditsky and Robert Karnes as Max.   Saturday 9:00 CBS - Mr. Lucky October 1959 - September 1960 Based on the 1943 movie starring Cary Grant. John Vivyan stars as "Mr. Lucky", off-shore casino owner and Ross Martin ('The Wild, Wild West') co-stars as his assistant Andamo in this Blake Edwards ('The Pink Panther') produced series. The music by Henry Mancini is considered by many to be one of the best television theme songs of all time. Pippa Scott appeared as Mr. Lucky's lucky girl.   Saturday 9:30 NBC - Five Fingers October 1959 - January 1960 David Hedison ('Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea') starred as Victor Sebastion, a cold war era American spy working behind commie lines as a booking agent for gorgeous girls. Co-starring Paul Burke and Simone Genet.   Sunday NBC 7:00 - Riverboat September 1959 - January 1961 Before there was the starship Enterprise there was the riverboat Enterprise,. Darren McGavin ('Night Stalker') and Burt Reynolds star as two manly men searching for revenue and adventure onboard a riverboat sailing the American Riverways. The series stars didn't get along at all behind the scenes and Burt Reynolds was replaced by Noah Berry, Jr. before the show entered it's second season. "I will say this about McGavin. He is going to be a very disappointed man on the first Easter after his death." was Reynolds' comment about working with Darren McGavin on 'Riverboat'.

The Naked City ran from 1958 - 1963 on the ABC Network and starred James Franciscus and John McIntire (at least originally). There were frequent cast changes during the run of the series. Each episode began with the narration "There are eight million stories in the naked city.
