Let's bounce around You Tube and see what Christmas TV treasures we can find. Like this from The Doris Day Show, the office throws a Christmas party and Doris' pal played by Rose Marie has had a few too many. Remember drinking at office parties? You're old.
On that program, Doris sang a lovely version of 'Silver Bells,' one of my favorite Christmas carols.
Around the same time, My World & Welcome To It featured a holiday theme. This was a highly acclaimed 1969-70 series that suffered from low ratings - but see for yourself what a gem it was in a sea of ridiculous network sitcoms. That's Cheryl Tiegs in the Dentyne ad pre-Charlie's Angels.
Another fondly remembered series Here Come The Brides starring Bobby Sherman and David Soul aired a Christmas episode on December 18, 1968.
It's Mr. Bean vs the Christmas turkey in this classic from Great Britain.
Also from across the pond - Are You Being Served had many Holiday episodes, the most famous of which might be 'Christmas Crackers.'
The Archies had a hit show on Saturday mornings and that show spawned several big hit singles. Did you know there was an Archies Christmas Album? Me either, here's a cut:
Downton Abbey Christmas!
That's all the holiday cheer for this page. Click over and see lots more Christmas episodes on TVparty! |
