The Best of Comedy Central Presents Uncensored

The most memorable of the Comedy Central Presents series of stand up specials comes to DVD with 8 of today's top comics doing what they do best - making folks laugh.

There are so many hilarious moments in this collection, like Dane Cook's twisted take on working at Burger King, Jim Gaffigan's dour, observational humor, the always funny Brian Regan who is represented with a fine half-hour, and the impossibly cute Demitri Martin with his break out show. Not to mention Carlos Mencia serving up his usual crap.

The late Mitch Hedberg's half-hour from 2003 is here, he attracted a cult following due to his rambling, esoteric style and this is one of his best outings, to be sure.

This is classic standup featuring the best modern comics front and center; in many cases at the beginnings of their career. A great addition to your library, a DVD you can pop in when friends stop by - but they may be familiar to some from repeated airings. Well worth the low price!

The Closer Season One

It's such a joy to discover a show that immediately catapults into my favorite programs list. Critics are raving about this unusual crime drama about a Southern gal (Kyra Sedgwick) with the people skills of a panther who joins the LAPD to solve their toughest crimes.

This show also stars one of my favorites, J.K. Simmons (the nazi prick from Oz) as her boss. I heartily recommend this one, even for folks that don't normally enjoy this type of show, it's exciting, funny and keeps you guessing to the end with intricate and unexpected plot twists. I'm two discs in and I haven't guessed the ending to any of the shows, that's highly unusual and very pleasing.
